The History of Norfolk Island Real Estate - Established 1973

Did you know that Norfolk Island Real Estate is celebrating 50 years of serving the island?

Many of our community will remember that the business was established by Agnes Hain back in 1973. In the early days, Agnes worked from a desk at the Travel Centre where Pinetree Tours is now located. It was a very primitive setup by today’s standards but the idea for a real estate business was born and began as a casual arrangement between Goldie Buffett, Kevin Pereira, Hugh Lambie and Agnes.

As Norfolk Island Real Estate started to get busier, Agnes went on to manage a large number of properties on the island and establish a rent roll. Over time, other members of the original group either left the Island or went in different directions. Agnes employed many staff including Lynne Mogey and Brian James, who later took over Norfolk Island Real Estate. When Brian and Lynne bought in, they moved the business to 54 Taylors Road and later bought the Cameralines building where Norfolk Island Real Estate remains to this day.

It wasn’t until 2019 that Lynne Mogey and Brian James decided to hand the baton of Norfolk Island Real Estate to local girls Angie Andresen and Crystal Fell who ran the business for four years, with the business being under new management since late last year.

Over the last 50 years, the names and the faces of Norfolk Island Real Estate have changed, but one thing has remained the same: the commitment to looking after the people of Norfolk Island by a dedicated team of friendly, local professionals who are always ready to help.
